Changes have been made in the flag code of the country, after which now the flag has been allowed to be flown both during the day and night. Know what is flag code and what changes have been made-

This time on the occasion of completion of 75 years of independence, the government is starting 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign. In view of this, the government has made changes in the Flag Code of India. After this change, now the national flag will be allowed to be hoisted both day and night. Along with this, now the national flag made of polyester and machine can also be hoisted. Know what is flag code and what is Har-Ghar tiranga campaign-

What has been amended in the Flag Code of India
The display, hoisting and use of the Indian National Flag comes under the Flag Code of India, 2002 and the Prevention of Insults to National Pride Act, 1971. The Flag Code of India , 2002 has been amended through an order dated July 20, 2022 . Thereafter, clause (11) of paragraph 2.2 of Part II of the Flag Code of India, 2002, shall now read as 'Where the flag is displayed in the open or is displayed at the residence of a citizen, it shall be displayed day and night. Can be hoisted. Earlier, the national flag was allowed to be hoisted only from sunrise to sunset. 

Similarly, another provision of the Flag Code was amended to say, 'The national flag shall be hand spun and hand woven or machine made. It will be made of cotton/polyester/wool/silk khadi. Earlier, the use of machine-made and polyester-made national flags was not allowed.

Under this campaign, the national flag will be hoisted on the roof of more than 20 crore houses with public participation from August 13 to 15. This will also include government and private establishments. The administration is preparing vigorously for this campaign. Nodal officers have also been appointed for this. For this, the central government has made arrangements for the production of three types of flags. These will be available in post offices and people will be able to buy the national flag online as well.

Surely keep these 7 things in mind
1. Flag will not be used for commercial purpose.
2. The flag shall not be lowered to salute any person or thing.
3. The flag shall not be used as a uniform or dress. The flag cannot be printed on handkerchiefs, pillows or any other dress.
4. The flag shall not be used to cover any building.
5. No advertisement/notification/record should be written on the flag.
6. The flag shall not be used to cover the roof of a vehicle, train, boat, aircraft, etc.
7. No other flag should be flown at the same height or above the Indian flag.
