In view of this, the government has made changes in the Flag Code of India. After this change, now the national flag will be allowed to be hoisted both day and night. Similarly, another provision of the Flag Code was amended to say, 'The national flag shall be hand spun and hand woven or machine made. It will be made of cotton/polyester/wool/silk khadi. Earlier, the use of machine-made and polyester-made national flags was not allowed.
Under this campaign, the national flag will be hoisted on the roof of more than 20 crore houses with public participation from August 13 to 15. This will also include government and private establishments. The administration is preparing vigorously for this campaign. Nodal officers have also been appointed for this. For this, the central government has made arrangements for the production of three types of flags. These will be available in post offices and people will be able to buy the national flag online as well.
