Today's information and information is not to be used to create friction, fight or create enmity between the police and the public.  What we know is being used by a person or an official who is misusing the law, as you know.

Types of police

There are mainly two types based on the police area.

1. Commissionerate Area.

2. S.P Area.

There are four commissionerate areas in Gujarat.(example)

1. Rajkot

2. Ahmedabad

3. Surat

4. Vadodara.

DYSP

If a DYSP is posted in a commissionerate area then he is called ACP and anywhere else is called DYSP.

Even if one of them changes the post based on the area. Superintendent of Police in the Commissionerate area, whoever is the boss is the Commissioner of the whole city, the rest is the main of the entire district is the S.P.

S.P (Superintendent Police)

 S.P. has an Ashoka pillar.

 S.P is one  star.

If S.P is working in Surat, Rajkot, Ahmedabad or Vadodara (Commissionerate Area) City then he is called DCP and if transferred anywhere else he is called S.P.

Now, there are mainly three types of police...that we see around us.

1. Armed police.

2. Unarmed.

3. State Reserve Police..

 1. Armed police.

The police who stand behind the VVIP people of our country such as social leaders, political leaders or any other leaders are armed police...

   Work of armed police

  • To seize prisoners,
  • Protecting VVIPs,
  • To perform whatever duty is assigned in temples or public places, government property,
  • All armed police are to transport prisoners from jail to court and transfer prisoners from court to jail.

  2. Unarmed police

Our daily life is intertwined with this police.

If you go to the police station, file a complaint, get investigated, get arrested, stand on the road in traffic, call 100 number and come to PCR, all these people are unarmed police.

The work of unarmed police

  •  maintain law and order,
  • Safety while conducting rallies,
  •  Writing a complaint,
  • Hearing complaints,
  • Investigating crimes,

 All these are unarmed police.

Positions of Police

1. Constable-

Wearing police clothes, carrying a blank on the shoulder, with the name of the district written on the shoulder, he is a constable and a public defender. Lokrakshak means a constable who has completed five years and a constable who has completed five years...

Job of Constable-

1. It does not include doing any other work as instructed by the superior officer.

2. Memo cannot be torn

3. Complaint cannot be taken in person

 4. No power to detain vehicle

5. No one has power to impose a fine of five-twenty-five. No power has been conferred by law, such specific authority, as the police.

2. Head Constable(H.C)

The head constable has three red bars above the bye. If the traffic is going up, the H.C (head constable) can spread the memo, but the constable cannot spread the memo, now be careful that if there are three red bars above the bye of the pillar, take the memo only, the rest Whether to call or not sir, I will take the memo, but if you give it, the prasadi is to be taken by your hands...

  • The Head Constable himself can write a complaint,
  • Complaints can also be made in person,
  • can become a complainant himself.

3.ASI (Assistant Sub Inspector)
  • G.P (Gujrat Police) is written on the shoulder of ASI,
  • ASI has one star,
  •  There are blue and red color stripes.
ASI means above head constable and below PSI, middle class like all of us..

Authority of ASI

1 ASI has also got the same powers as Head Constable and PSI.
2. Your vehicle may be detained.
3. You can be sued.
4. Can file a complaint against you.

Types of Custody

There are two types of custody.
1.Police Custody and
2.Judicial Custody.

1.Police Custody - means you are in possession of the police, believe me to be caught by the police and kept by the police, in a lockup or in a staff room.

2.Judicial Custody- If your possession is with the Magistrate it is called Judicial Custody.

4. Distaff

Distaff means ordinary policemen, but those who have a good relationship with the boss should be put in the distaff, those who don't have a good relationship are beaten by CSTO, the rest do not have much trouble.
Distaff is not a big agency like CBI.

Distaff work
  • To get ready in the morning, to come, to do the rounds and to do something if something goes up quickly...
  • The rest is actually the work of crime investigation, it is called surveillance police, it is called undercover police.
  • Guptarah keep watch over the police station,
  • Crime prevention,
  • To prevent crimes,
  • Investigating crimes committed,
  • Keeping a secret watch over the accused,
  • Pursuing suspicious persons,
  • All this is the work of secret police, walking around in plain clothes means that no one knows that this is the police..

5.PSI(Police Sub Inspector)
  • PSI has two stars above the shoulder.
  • There are red and blue bars.
  • G.P (Gujrat Police) is written.

  6.P.I (Police inspector)
  • P.I has three stars.
  • There is a red-blue stripe.(Everything else is fine. But one thing G.P.S (Gujrat Police Service) is written instead of G.P.)
  • P.I Gujrat Police Service is considered as Class-II officer.
  • A gazetted officer means a gazetted officer.
Many times you must have heard that gazetted officer's signature is not to be stamped, this P.I

7.DySP
  • Gujrat Police Service,
  • have three stars,
  • But there is no blue and red stripe
Two Types of DySP
1.Armed DySP
2.Unarmed DySP

Armed DySP is beating in SRP, rest is beating in CT (city) ..

8.Home Guard
  • The Home Guard has to bear the brunt,
  • GHG (Gujrat Home Guard) is written on the shoulder.
  • Home Guard wears a khaki cap, other police wear a blue cap, blue cap is called "barrack cap".
Home Guard's work
  • Helping the police in the work of home guard, helping the police in maintaining traffic order, maintaining law and order, maintaining public properties, maintaining order in the society etc.
Now comes our old and familiar, TRB

  9.TRB(Traffic Brigade)
  • TRB has blue pants and a white shirt.
  • His job is to stand over the traffic point and regulate the traffic.
  • TRB has no right to stop the vehicle or check any document.

Passport Verification
The passport police has to verify only two things, there is no third thing to worry about... no... and no.....
  1. Is the person issuing the passport a citizen of India or not? It has to be checked, for that there are numerous cards like chutni card, aadhar card, ration card, they have to be shown.
  2. Has there been any police complaint against this man or not? The third is to do no work.
No extra money is owed to the police for passport verification, as we already pay the tax.

Court
A complaint was filed against you and you were taken to the police station and the police said that today is Saturday, tomorrow is Sunday and Monday is a public holiday, so you will be free for three days, otherwise let me tell you that the court is not closed on any day. The court is open during the day, open at night. , open on Janmashtami, open on public holidays, open on earthquakes, open on wedding occasions.

Now if someone says that you should stay in "lockup" for three days on Sat, Sun, Mon, then there is no point in that.

Because, according to the Constitution of the country of India and according to the provisions of the law called Indian Penal Code
"If any person is caught by the police, the police must compulsorily appear before the court within a maximum of 24 hours, but this includes travel time.

The court is not just a "court" building, but the "judge" must be taken to his house where he lives, so the court is considered open. Now never live in such a dream that we will keep three-four days.

Remand

Remand does not mean beating, remember there is no law against beating in police, and I think it is the duty of the magistrate when he produces you in the court, that question will ask you,
"Do you have a complaint against the police?"
If you have been beaten, mentally tortured, harassed in any other way, then say "yes" and if you have said "no", then say no.

Remand means... police caught me and started asking what was it?
So let me say that sir it was so and so, such a situation happened...etc...etc... 24 hours were over in asking all this, the time was reduced... so the police court did not have more time for further questioning. demand, because no person can be kept in the police station for more than 24 hours.
But, if the police want to keep him in the police station for more than 24 hours, then the Magistrate i.e. "Judge" should request that this person should be interrogated further and kept for two more days. This is called remand.
                         "Remand" means police custody.
