Environmental Law is the law for protection and improvement of the natural resources, atmosphere and environment including forest, lakes, rivers and wild life. It insists compassion for living creatures and prevention of pollution including agricultural pollution, pollution created by pesticides,industrial effluents and mining and river pollution, water pollution, air pollution, noise pollution etc.
The note begins by defining environmental law and describing the legal system that establishes compliance obligations. Then, all the major Environmental Acts such as The Water Pollution Control Act, Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act of 1981, Environment (Protection) Act (EPA) National Green Tribunal Act of 2010, and Biological Diversity Act 2002 are briefly described and interrelated.
